Hair Connection has several options of non-surgical hair replacement.  The non-surgical hair replacement procedure consists of matching 100% human hair to your own growing hair and blending them together.

The concept behind this system is to utilize or integrate one's existing hair with the unit to achieve a desired hair style.

The Hair Connection defines non-surgical hair restoration as “the addition of non-growing hair to balding or thinning areas without penetrating the scalp”.

There are several types of non-surgical or prosthetic replacements.  A non-surgical hair replacement normally consists of some type of foundation or base to which hair matching that of the recipients is inserted or affixed.  The foundation containing the new hair is then applied to the thinning area and the additional hair is cut, blended, and styled with the client's own hair.  There are countless foundations depending upon the needs of the client.  Some bases are made of thin breathable monofilaments.  Others are thin membranes, which are made from silicone or polyurethane and closely resemble human skin.

The foundation may be applied and attached non-surgically either to scalp or to the good growing hair around the perimeter of the balding or thinning area.

Integration – a mesh base is created to the exact size and shape of the thinning area.  The weave on the mesh is sufficiently open to allow the recipient's hair to be brushed up through the system.  This hair restoration option is recommended for those who have up to 25% density loss.  It is commonly attached for continuous wear.

By far the most realistic appearance in non-surgical hair restoration. An artificial skin graft (a clear copolymer membrane which is permeable to air) is created to the specification of the thinning area.  It is adhered over the entire surface of the thinning area creating the most natural appearance of hair growing directly from the scalp. Non-surgical methods provide the most flexible results in the sense that the outcome is quite controllable right down to the amount of hair that is added.  In addition, the results can be changed at any time to accommodate the changing preferences of the recipient or easily reversed with little if any side effect.  However, all non-surgical hair restoration methods require some kind of ongoing maintenance and the materials themselves will require replacement at regular intervals.
